Healing Verses
God's power to heal — body, soul, and spirit. Find comfort in His restorative love.
Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah; They shall not lament for him, {saying}, Ah my brother! or, Ah sister! they shall not lament for him, {saying}, Ah lord! or, Ah his glory!
And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from {one} end of the earth even unto the {other} end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
They shall be carried to Babylon, and there shall they be until the day that I visit them, saith the LORD; then will I bring them up, and restore them to this place.
{There is} none to plead thy cause, that thou mayest be bound up: thou hast no healing medicines. {that...: Heb. for binding up, or, pressing}
For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD; because they called thee an Outcast, {saying}, This {is} Zion, whom no man seeketh after.
Behold, I will bring them from the north country, and gather them from the coasts of the earth, {and} with them the blind and the lame, the woman with child and her that travaileth with child together: a great company shall return thither.
Thus saith the LORD; A voice was heard in Ramah, lamentation, {and} bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her children refused to be comforted for her children, because they {were} not.
Behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth.
{But} thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn {odours} for thee; and they will lament thee, {saying}, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
Then took Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces that {were} with him, all the remnant of the people whom he had recovered from Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, from Mizpah, after {that} he had slain Gedaliah the son of Ahikam, {even} mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon:
{There shall be} lamentation generally upon all the housetops of Moab, and in the streets thereof: for I have broken Moab like a vessel wherein {is} no pleasure, saith the LORD.
They that fled stood under the shadow of Heshbon because of the force: but a fire shall come forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the midst of Sihon, and shall devour the corner of Moab, and the crown of the head of the tumultuous ones. {tumultuous...: Heb. children of noise}
