And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Hazael king of Syria. And Azariah the son of Jehoram king of Judah went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick. {which...: Heb. wherewith they wounded him} {Azariah: also called, Ahaziah, or, Jehoahaz}
And she looked, and, behold, the king stood at his pillar at the entering in, and the princes and the trumpets by the king: and all the people of the land rejoiced, and sounded with trumpets, also the singers with instruments of musick, and such as taught to sing praise. Then Athaliah rent her clothes, and said, Treason, Treason. {Treason: Heb. Conspiracy}
So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it. {the work...: Heb. the healing went up upon the work}
And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.
He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.
Then Uzziah was wroth, and {had} a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the LORD, from beside the incense altar.
And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.
In those days Hezekiah was sick to the death, and prayed unto the LORD: and he spake unto him, and he gave him a sign. {gave...: or, wrought a miracle for him}
And the men did the work faithfully: and the overseers of them {were} Jahath and Obadiah, the Levites, of the sons of Merari; and Zechariah and Meshullam, of the sons of the Kohathites, to set {it} forward; and {other of} the Levites, all that could skill of instruments of musick.
And the archers shot at king Josiah; and the king said to his servants, Have me away; for I am sore wounded. {wounded: Heb. made sick}
And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah: and all the singing men and the singing women spake of Josiah in their lamentations to this day, and made them an ordinance in Israel: and, behold, they {are} written in the lamentations.
But they mocked the messengers of God, and despised his words, and misused his prophets, until the wrath of the LORD arose against his people, till {there was} no remedy. {remedy: Heb. healing}
